Saint Winoc Church

Placed on the extreme point of the Plouhinec district, the church of Saint Winoc dates back to the middle of the 16th century and was founded on the site of an even older monument.

Built in the form of a Latin cross, the church is dominated by a galleried tower from which a spire shoots up to a height of 40 metres. Under the south gallery are carvings of cattle and a fish, whilst to the west you can see a small, chine-hulled boat carrying three rowing crewmen. These sculptures would have spoken volumes about the dual economy of this parish: living off the land and living off the sea.
